I can't believe that Thanksgiving is tomorrow!!  Crazy!  The kiddies are headed up North tonight so, as a special treat, we decorated for Christmas this morning.  I know, I know...I am always preaching about how we all need to officially recognize Thanksgiving and give it it's proper dues before we move on to Christmas, but what can I say...I am weak.  However, I thought I should show off my Thanksgiving light bulbs one more time before the big day!

New Lighties!

My friend Jeri put in a request for some custom light bulbs...and I have to admit, it was an odd one.  She wanted a pair of dachshunds for her Dad's birthday.  Well, here they are!  Introducing Yogi & Lucy!

New Website!!

Again, no, not the big thing I am waiting on...but still pretty big, and can I say awesome??

I finally got a website for my light bulbs!  I can process orders online now.  You can pay with a credit card even.  Yup, I am in the big league now!  Woot!

Back to School!

I can't believe that summer is almost over!  School days are right around the corner...sigh.  But here are some cute teacher light bulbs that should help spark some excitement!

The 4th of July is almost here!!  I gave some of these light bulbs to two of my most fabulous friends and they went "gah-gah" over them.

"Hoppy" Easter!!

Can you believe that Easter is only 1 week away???  It has completely crept up on me this year.  Once again, I must share my adorable Easter light bulbs with everyone.  At the craft fairs I sell these as a set (1 big bunny, 1 baby bunny--either boy or girl, and 1 carrot).  Super Cute!

Joy to the World!

Each year I am taken aback at how much commercialism is taking over Christmas.  I see more of Santa and Rudolf than I do of Christ.  I am trying to keep Christmas more spiritual this year...taking the focus off of the presents and putting it more on keeping the Spirit close, spending time with my family, teaching and testifying of Christ and the important role he has in each of our lives.  

I found this quote (again by Thomas S. Monson...he IS my favorite!) and I think it really helps put the entire season in perspective

 

 "...Christmas is what we make of it. Despite all the distractions, we can see to it that Christ is at the center of our celebration. If we have not already done so, we can establish Christmas traditions for ourselves and for our families which will help us capture and keep the spirit of Christmas."

I truly hope that all of us can keep the spirit of Christmas near and put Christ back in the center of Christmas where he belongs.

THE GRINCH

What better way to celebrate Christmas than with a Grinch on your tree?  I originally came up with the idea a couple of years ago.  I made a bunch of them for some guys I used to work with.  I was getting so sick of them complaining about Christmas that I decided they were all a bunch of Grinchs.  I found some black foil wrapped candy labeled "coal" and put it with each light bulb.

Attitude of Gratitude

I can't believe how fast Thanksgiving crept up on me!!  This whole month seems to be just a whirl of events and it's barely just half way through.  I am a purist when it comes to Thanksgiving.  I know some people who jump right from Halloween to Christmas...not me.  I insist on giving Thanksgiving it's proper dues.  So on that note, I want to share a little something from one of my favorite speakers of all time...Pres. Thomas S. Monson:

"We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues."

Let's all remember to keep a positive and uplifting spirit near us, especially during this time of year.  I'm so very grateful for so many wonderful blessings in my life right now.  I pray that you all have an enjoyable holiday!

I had so much fun this weekend at the Salt Lake Family Christmas Show!!!  I will DEFINITELY be doing this show again next year!  Here's a picture of our booth.

This is Carrie Pike (the cutest little ball of energy you will ever meet!).  She makes "Carrie Bears".  The most adorable things ever.  She makes keepsake bears out of clothing from loved ones who have passed on.  I loved working with her!

Salt Lake's Family Christmas Gift Show

This is the BIG one I was telling you all about! It's the 12th Annual Family Christmas Gift Show! It will be held at the South Towne Expo Center (9575 S State St. Sandy,UT).

Parking will be free. As far as admission, I'm not sure what they will be charging for adults, however, I do know that children 13 and under can get in for free.
Friday 11 Nov. 10am to 9pm
Saturday 12 Nov. 10am to 9pm
Sunday 13 Nov. 10am to 5pm
Be sure to check out their website www.familychristmasgiftshow.com to get more information about the show. There will be performances, free samples from the cooking demonstration area. You can see vendors creating their wares in the "Artists in Action" area. Plus Santa will be making an appearance!
I really hope you all will make the time to go to this show. It will be fabulous! If nothing else, take a look, get in on a free show, and, oh yeah, COME SEE ME!!!
